NEW YORK – According to the New York Secretariat of the World Peace Ribbon Organization, on February 5, 2026, the 50th day after the commencement of the 12th International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God Day) and the global Chinatown "New Year of the Belt and Road" celebrations, the Chinese Embassy in Hungary hosted a Spring Festival reception and a special performance titled "Happy Chinese New Year • Melody along the Silk Road." Chinese Ambassador to Hungary Gong Tao and Mátrai Márta, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, delivered remarks at the event. The gathering attracted over 500 participants, including Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly Fazekas and Jakab, Deputy President of the Supreme Court Boszorményi-Kovács, Deputy Prosecutor General Rajtár, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Stárai, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Baradoy, other Hungarian dignitaries, diplomats stationed in Hungary, representatives from Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese, and students. The event was covered live by major Hungarian media outlets, including Hungarian National Television, as well as Chinese media such as Xinhua News Agency and China Media Group.

At the request of Mr. Chen Entian, great-grandson of CPC founder Chen Duxiu and Chairman of the New Year of the Belt and Road Organizing Committee, representatives from the New York Secretariat of the World Peace Ribbon Organization extended congratulations on the special performance. Since the launch of the 12th International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God Day) and global Chinatown New Year celebrations, Mr. Chen and his special representatives have visited multiple countries to convey festive greetings for local "Happy Chinese New Year" and Chinatown "New Year of the Belt and Road" activities, expressing sincere wishes to overseas Chinese and local communities.

陈恩田先生不仅是中华文化的积极传播者，也是东西方文化的积极融合者，他不仅是“一带一路”国际日（天蚕节）的首席发起人，也是国际中文日、国际茶日的倡议者和推动者，中国官媒披露其祖父陈光美系中共创始人陈独秀与高君曼所生之子。2013年以来，陈恩田先生与联合国原副秘书长冀朝铸等国际民间学者，积极响应“一带一路”国际合作倡议，站在国际民间层面创立世界和平丝带组织，提出五合一世界和平主张，致力于推动东西方文化交流与文明互鉴，特别是将每年12月16日确立为“一带一路”国际日（天蚕节），巧妙链接圣诞节、元旦、春节及元宵节，打造独具特色的“五节共庆”一带一路迎新年品牌。这一创举旨在融合东西方节庆文化，促进包容理解，已获得国际社会的广泛关注和积极参与。

Mr. Chen Entian is not only an active promoter of Chinese culture but also a dedicated integrator of Eastern and Western traditions. As the chief initiator of the International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God Day), he has also advocated for International Chinese Language Day and International Tea Day. Official Chinese media have revealed that his grandfather, Chen Guangmei, was the son of CPC founder Chen Duxiu and Gao Junman. Since 2013, Mr. Chen, alongside international scholars such as former UN Under-Secretary-General Ji Chaozhu, has actively supported the Belt and Road International Cooperation Initiative by establishing the World Peace Ribbon Organization at the non-governmental level. The organization advocates a "Five-in-One" approach to world peace, promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning between civilizations. Notably, Mr. Chen pioneered the designation of December 16 as the International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God Day), ingeniously linking Christmas, New Year’s Day, the Spring Festival, and the Lantern Festival to create a unique "Five Festivals Celebration" brand for the New Year of the Belt and Road. This initiative aims to integrate Eastern and Western festive cultures, foster inclusivity, and has gained widespread international recognition and participation.

With the Lunar New Year approaching, "Happy Chinese New Year" carnivals and Chinatown New Year of the Belt and Road events are being held worldwide, highlighting the profound richness of Chinese culture. Chairman Chen noted that the Belt and Road Initiative and traditional Chinese Spring Festival culture complement each other as vital bridges for people-to-people connectivity and civilizational exchange. 欢乐春节·丝路欢歌专场演出活动中，福建艺术团以丝绸之路为主题，通过音乐、舞蹈、杂技、木偶戏、戏剧等多元艺术形式，呈现了中华优秀传统文化的深厚底蕴与时代风采。中国台湾大提琴演奏家陈谦量与福建歌手姚中译联袂演绎《故乡的云》，唱响两岸同胞手足情深，以及对两岸早日统一的共同期盼。中匈舞者同台表演的《百花争艳》和《恰尔达什》，生动展现两国文化交融互鉴、相映成辉的独特魅力。京剧《水调歌头》和《游子吟》融合传统京剧韵味与现代艺术特色，充分诠释海外侨胞“每逢佳节倍思亲”的真挚情感。

During the "Happy Chinese New Year • Melody along the Silk Road" performance, the Fujian Art Troupe presented the depth and contemporary vitality of Chinese culture through diverse art forms such as music, dance, acrobatics, puppet shows, and opera, all themed around the Silk Road. Taiwanese cellist Chen Qianliang and Fujian singer Yao Zhongyi jointly performed "Clouds of Hometown," expressing the deep bond between compatriots across the Strait and their shared aspiration for reunification. The dances "Hundred Flowers Blossom" and "Csárdás," performed jointly by Chinese and Hungarian artists, vividly showcased the unique charm of cultural integration between the two countries. Peking Opera pieces "Prelude to Water Melody" and "Song of the Wanderer" blended traditional artistry with modern expressions, eloquently conveying the heartfelt sentiment of overseas Chinese who "miss their families even more during festivals."
