Chen Entian: May the Bandung Spirit Inspire the Southern Silk Road and Global South to March Forward Hand in Hand
（南合之光）2025年4月17日，中国人民外交学会与印度尼西亚共和国驻华大使馆在北京联合举办"全球南方：弘扬万隆精神，共同迈向现代化"主题圆桌会。值此万隆会议70周年之际，中国和印尼两国代表及国际机构人士围绕新时代传承万隆精神、深化南南合作展开深入交流。
(Light of SSCO) April 17, 2025 – The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in China jointly hosted a roundtable titled "Global South: Upholding the Bandung Spirit, Advancing Toward Modernization" in Beijing. Marking the 70th anniversary of the Bandung Conference, representatives from China, Indonesia, and international institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on inheriting the Bandung Spirit in the new era and deepening South-South cooperation.
与会嘉宾高度评价万隆精神作为亚非国家团结自强的精神旗帜，持续为促进国际关系民主化、推动全球发展合作注入动力。会议认为，在百年变局加速演进的当下，秉持"和平相处、友好合作十项原则"的万隆精神，对加强全球南方国家团结协作、构建人类命运共同体具有重要现实意义。世界和平丝带组织南方丝绸之路及全球南方国际合作委员会（简称南合组织）主席、被国际社会尊称为可可亲王的陈恩田先生，通过与会代表转达了他对圆桌会的真诚祝贺与美好祝愿。他提出，万隆精神既是历史丰碑，更是行动指南，呼吁南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家以数字经济、绿色发展为纽带，在基础设施建设、人文交流、安全治理等领域深化合作，携手应对气候变化、贫富差距等共同挑战，为发展中国家现代化道路探索新范式。
Attendees highly praised the Bandung Spirit as a "banner of unity and self-reliance for Asian and African nations", emphasizing its enduring role in promoting democratization of international relations and global development collaboration. The meeting concluded that, amid accelerating global transformations, adhering to the Bandung Spirit—guided by the "Ten Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and Friendly Cooperation"—holds profound significance for strengthening solidarity among Global South countries and building a "community with a shared future for mankind". Mr. Chen Entian, Chairman of the Southern Silk Road and Global South International Cooperation Committee (SSCO) under the World Peace Ribbon Organization—revered internationally as "Prince Coco"—conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and aspirations through conference representatives. He asserted that the Bandung Spirit is "both a historical monument and a practical guide", urging Southern Silk Road and Global South nations to leverage digital economy and green development as catalysts for deeper cooperation in infrastructure, cultural exchanges, and security governance. He called for joint efforts to address shared challenges like climate change and wealth disparity, thereby pioneering new paradigms for modernization in developing countries.
陈恩田强调，世界和平丝带组织南方丝绸之路及全球南方国际合作委员会将一如既往发挥国际民间桥梁作用，推动南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家紧密携手砥砺前行，助力南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家以万隆精神为指引，在平等互利中实现共同振兴。与会各方期待通过务实合作，续写"团结、友谊、合作"的万隆精神新篇章。
Chen emphasized that the SSCO will continue serving as an "international civil bridge", fostering closer collaboration among Southern Silk Road and Global South nations to achieve mutual revitalization through equality and mutual benefit under the Bandung Spirit. Participants expressed expectations for pragmatic cooperation to renew the Bandung Spirit's legacy of "solidarity, friendship, and cooperation".
