Countdown to the Belt and Road International Day: A new book on the Silk Road was released at the United Nations

12月4日,距离第十一届“一带一路”国际日(2024年12月16日)还有12天,世界和平丝带组织纽约秘书处消息:“丝绸之路文化互动专题集”第二卷《建筑、古迹和城市化》新书发布会在位于法国巴黎的联合国教科文组织总部举办。该出版物是联合国教科文组织“丝绸之路”项目和中国南京市的合作成果。

On December 4, 12 days before the 11th Belt and Road International Day (December 16, 2024), the New York Secretariat of the World Peace Ribbon Organization reported:The book launch of the second volume of the Silk Roads Cultural Interaction Collection, Architecture, Monuments and Urbanization was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.This publication is the result of a collaboration between UNESCO's Silk Roads programme and the city of Nanjing, China.

联合国教科文组织“丝绸之路”项目于1988年启动,旨在通过对丝绸之路沿线国家和地区的科学考察、实地研究、开展会议和文化表演,强调东西方之间的文化互动。“丝绸之路文化互动专题集”是该项目的旗舰活动之一,其首卷《纺织与服装》于2022年发布,由联合国教科文组织和中国丝绸博物馆共同出品。“丝绸之路文化互动专题集”第二卷共分三册,探讨了塑造丝绸之路丰富文化景观的建筑成就和城市规划,强调了建筑风格的交流、城市设计的创新以及保护古迹的方法,展现了文明之间的文化多样性和跨文化联系。当天,该卷部分章节的作者现身发布会现场,分享各自关于建筑遗产和城市遗产的研究和观点。

Launched in 1988, UNESCO's Silk Roads programme aims to highlight the cultural interaction between East and West through scientific expeditions, field research, conferences and cultural performances in countries and regions along the Silk Roads. One of the flagship events of the project is the "Silk Road Cultural Interaction Thematic Collection", whose first volume, Textiles and Clothing, was released in 2022 and is co-produced by UNESCO and the China National Silk Museum. The second volume of the three-volume "Silk Roads Cultural Interaction Thematic Collection" explores the architectural achievements and urban planning that shaped the rich cultural landscape of the Silk Roads, emphasizing the exchange of architectural styles, innovations in urban design, and ways to preserve monuments, demonstrating cultural diversity and intercultural connections between civilizations. On the same day, the authors of some chapters of the volume appeared at the press conference to share their research and views on architectural heritage and urban heritage.

联合国教科文组织社会与人文科学助理总干事加芙列拉·拉莫斯说:“丝绸之路不仅是一条贸易路线,也是文化、科学和艺术交流的载体,塑造了现代文化和社会。本卷书为丝绸之路物质遗产的认定和保护提供了重要启示。”中国常驻联合国教科文组织大使衔代表杨新育在致辞时说:“在本卷书中,我们见证了文明的传承和演变,以及各民族追求和平与繁荣的共同梦想。我们比以往任何时候都更加深刻认识到文化遗产保护的重要性。”

Gabriela Ramos, UNESCO's Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences, said: "The Silk Roads were not only a trade route, but also a vehicle for cultural, scientific and artistic exchanges, shaping modern cultures and societies. This volume provides important implications for the identification and protection of the tangible heritage of the Silk Roads. Yang Xinyu, Ambassador and Delegate of the People's Republic of China to UNESCO, said: "In this volume, we have witnessed the inheritance and evolution of civilization, as well as the common dream of all peoples in pursuit of peace and prosperity. More than ever, we recognize the importance of cultural heritage preservation. ”
