(SilkRoadNews)On August 19, 2026, there are 88 days remaining until the 13th Belt and Road International Day. Chen Entian, Chief Initiator of the Belt and Road International Day and Chairman of the Silk Road International Guild Alliance, met with a senior Thai Buddhist monk during his transit in Bangkok.
During the meeting, Chen Entian expressed gratitude to Thailand’s Buddhist community for their positive response and strong support for the Belt and Road International Day lantern-lighting prayer ceremony. He stated that the 13th Belt and Road International Day is only 88 days away. Young volunteers will be arranged to cooperate with temples to jointly hold the lantern-lighting prayer ceremony. The activity uses lanterns to convey wishes and pass on the Silk Road spirit of peace, cooperation and connectivity.
The two sides had friendly exchanges on arrangements for the lantern-lighting prayer event. They look forward to deepening people-to-people friendly exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding among people along the routes through this cultural and prayer activity, and consolidating the public support for the Belt and Road Initiative via cultural and religious exchanges.
