Bangkok, Oct 21. There are 5 days to go before the Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference 2026, and 55 days to the opening of the 13th International Day of the Belt and Road & Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration Series. Chen Entian, Chairman of the Silk Road International Guild Alliance, who is advancing preparations for the First China-Thailand Cocoa Ribbon Ball Friendly Match in Thailand, sent a letter to the relevant leaders of the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) to wish the Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference 2026 a complete success.

Chen Entian noted that he recalled the Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference held in Shenzhen in 2021 coincided with the International Day of the Belt and Road. During the International Day of the Belt and Road in 2025, China Environment News published three important articles: High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Leveraging Green Finance as the "Blood Circulation" Engine, High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation: Improving the Diversified Investment and Financing Guarantee Mechanism and Leveraging Green Investment and Financing, and Feature Article: The Green Silk Road Pours Surging Momentum into Global Sustainable Development. In his view, the Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference and the global events of the International Day of the Belt and Road are advancing side by side, making joint efforts toward the grand dual-track goals of the Belt and Road Initiative.

It is learned that the Belt and Road Green Innovation Conference 2026 will be held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on October 26. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the HKSAR Government, the conference is undertaken by the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC), the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Environmental Protection Department of the HKSAR Government. Centered on the theme of "Working Together for the Green Transition of the Global South and Promoting Global Sustainable Development", the conference features an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, release of outcomes and thematic dialogues. Representatives from governments, financial institutions, enterprises, universities, research institutes and international organizations of more than 30 countries will gather in Hong Kong to conduct in-depth exchanges on green finance, green innovation and other topics, build consensus and jointly advance the high-quality development of the Green Silk Road.
