Beijing, October 18. With 58 days remaining before the opening of the 13th Belt and Road International Day and the Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration series of activities, the Belt and Road Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Conference (Ministerial-level) Roundtable Dialogue was successfully held in Beijing.
The event aims to deepen practical health cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, innovate international health assistance programs, and advance the building of a global community of health for all.
The conference brought together health ministers, deputy health ministers, diplomatic envoys, and representatives of international organizations from various countries around the world. Centering on deepening Belt and Road health cooperation, participants conducted in-depth discussions on strengthening global health aid, improving accessibility of cross-border medical services, optimizing public health systems, and building a fair, inclusive and equitable global health governance framework.
All participants exchanged experience extensively and reached broad consensus. They acknowledged that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) represents a valuable treasure of traditional medical culture and serves as an important platform for people-to-people exchanges and livelihood cooperation under the Belt and Road framework.
Deepening international cooperation and global promotion of TCM through the Belt and Road platform helps fill gaps in global public health capacity, improve medical services in developing countries, and further contribute to building a global community of health for all.
The ministerial-level roundtable further enriched the connotation of Belt and Road health cooperation, expanded the path for the internationalization, standardization and popularization of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and consolidated the foundation for multilateral medical and health exchanges among Belt and Road participating countries.
