CANBERRA — On August 10, 2026 local time, the International 73 Society (ISTS) convened a cloud-based conference combining online and offline participation. Following unanimous recommendation by its members, former ISTS Chairperson Chen Entian (English name: CANUTE) was appointed Chairperson of the Silk Road Guilds Alliance and concurrently Chairperson of the Silk Road News Agency.

Founded in 1908, the International 73 Society is a global, non-political, and non-profit social fellowship organization headquartered in Australia. After a century-long hiatus, it was relaunched in 2004 and held its first congress in Sydney in May 2008, where Chen Entian was elected as the inaugural Chairperson of the committee. As the chief initiator of the International Day of the Belt and Road and a leader of the World Peace Ribbon Organization, Chen has made widely recognized and remarkable contributions to promoting the economic and cultural development of the Silk Road.

It is reported that Chen initially intended to decline the position, citing overwhelming work commitments and expressing his hope to create more development opportunities for younger generations. However, all members believed that his experience and prestige were irreplaceable. In response to this unanimous call, Chen ultimately decided to return to the role. Moving forward, he will integrate resources from over 600 guilds worldwide to continue contributing to the economic and cultural development of the Silk Road.
