On October 19, the 2026 Financial Street Forum Annual Conference opened in Beijing. Centered on the theme "Openness, Cooperation and Inclusiveness – Building a New Ecosystem for Global Financial Development", the forum brings together elite financial professionals from home and abroad to discuss global financial cooperation. Mr. Chen Entian, creator of Ode to Financial Street and Chairman of the Silk Road International Chamber Alliance, sent a congratulatory letter from overseas, extending warm congratulations on the opening of the forum and sincere greetings to all participants.
Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Wang Jiang, Deputy Director-General of the General Office of the Central Financial Commission in charge of day-to-day work, was present. Pan Gongyi, Governor of the People’s Bank of China; Ding Xiangqun, Director of the State Administration of Financial Regulation; Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission; Fu Hua, President of Xinhua News Agency; and Zhu Hexin, Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, delivered keynote speeches successively. Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Beijing, presided over the opening ceremony, while Li Xiuling, Director of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, attended the event. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, delivered a video address.
Leading officials from central ministries and commissions and Beijing municipal authorities, heads of district government departments, diplomatic envoys of various countries in China, representatives of international organizations stationed in China, principals of financial institutions and enterprise groups at home and abroad, as well as experts and scholars gathered at the venue. They conducted in-depth exchanges on high-level financial opening-up, improving global financial governance, and deepening cross-border economic and trade cooperation.
In his congratulatory letter, Chen Entian stated that Financial Street serves as China’s financial window opening to the outside world, and the Financial Street Forum has continuously built a high-end platform for Sino-foreign financial exchanges. There are still 57 days to go before the opening of the 13th Belt and Road International Day (Silkworm God’s Day) and the Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration. Closely themed on openness and cooperation, this forum is highly aligned with the vision of economic, trade and financial connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative. He wished the forum could build consensus and achieve pragmatic outcomes, continuously promote capital integration and industrial cooperation between China and foreign countries, and contribute to fostering an open and inclusive new pattern of global finance.
Chen Entian has long been engaged in economic, trade and cultural exchanges overseas. He also serves as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 13th Belt and Road International Day (Silkworm God’s Day) and the Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration. He was invited to write Ode to Financial Street in 2012, which was released and exhibited in the Great Hall of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Written in parallel prose, the article records the evolution of Beijing Financial Street from Jinchengfang in the Yuan Dynasty, the agglomeration of silver banks in the Ming and Qing dynasties, to the development into a modern financial core area after China’s reform and opening-up. It has become a cultural landmark of Financial Street.
