17th Anniversary of the Publication of “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army”

BEIJING, Sept. 26, 2026 — On Sept. 26, 2026, the Beijing Headquarters of the Junfu Science and Technology Research Institute held a symposium marking the 17th anniversary of the publication of “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.”

Mr. Chen Entian, who is abroad, sent a congratulatory letter to the symposium. As head of the creation group for “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army,” Chen expressed his regret that he could not return to China to attend the symposium.In 2009, as a tribute to the military parade marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, Chen Entian, then president of the International Strategic Research Institute, was invited to serve as head of the creation group for “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.”

On Sept. 26 that year, the creation group held a ceremony at the Military Museum. General Chen Yong, Assistant Chief of the General Staff, on behalf of Chief of the General Staff Chen Bingde and the Parade Leading Group, formally received the calligraphy scroll of “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.” Former senior leaders, including Zhang Quanjing, former Minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee; Chen Weisong, former Deputy Secretary of the Military Discipline Inspection Commission; and Ma Bingzhi, former Commander of Naval Aviation, witnessed the presentation ceremony.

As of Sept. 26, 2026, it has been 17 years since the publication of “Ode to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.” Over the past 17 years, the work has always inspired all officers and soldiers of the PLA to hold high the great banner of the Party and the people, and to unswervingly safeguard the development of the motherland, the happiness of the people, and social harmony. With noble qualities and advanced deeds of bravery, tenacity, and selfless dedication, they have composed a majestic song of the people’s army serving the people.
