1911年冬，也是辛亥革命之后，安庆长江码头，襁褓中的陈光美被父亲陈独秀与母亲高君曼托付给养父陈大成，带往四川抚养。这一别，竟成永诀——直到高君曼咯血去世，陈光美也未能见生母一面。

In the winter of 1911, shortly after the Xinhai Revolution, at the Anqing Yangtze River dock, the infant Chen Guangmei was entrusted by his father Chen Duxiu and mother Gao Junman to his adoptive father Chen Dacheng, who took him to Sichuan to be raised. This parting turned out to be a final farewell—Chen Guangmei never saw his biological mother again before Gao Junman passed away from hemoptysis.

2019年，陈独秀诞辰140周年之际，陈光美之孙陈恩田向国际互联网公布了祖父临终所写的文章《陈独秀，原谅我此生不敢做你的儿子》，字字泣血，令人动容。此外，陈光美遗物中还有两张黑白照片，照片是民国时期的知识女性，气质娴雅，身份成谜。有人猜测，照片人物可能就是陈光美的生母高君曼。

In 2019, on the 140th anniversary of Chen Duxiu’s birth, Chen Entian, the grandson of Chen Guangmei, publicly shared an article written by his grandfather on his deathbed titled "Chen Duxiu, Forgive Me for Never Daring to Be Your Son in This Life." The heartfelt words moved many to tears. Additionally, among Chen Guangmei’s belongings were two black-and-white photographs depicting educated women from the Republican era, elegant in demeanor yet shrouded in mystery. Some speculate that the figures in the photos might be Chen Guangmei’s biological mother, Gao Junman.

Legend has it that Zhu De, entrusted by Chen Duxiu, once visited the young Chen Guangmei, who was fostered in Leshan, Sichuan, while planning the Lushun Uprising. These two photographs may have been tokens left by Zhu De at the home of Chen Dacheng. After more than a century, as these photos and the article came to light, this concealed family history has once again captured profound public attention.
