Chen Entian Meets with Comrade Li Heping, Descendant of Taihang War Veterans in Beijing
本报北京9月7日电，中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利八十周年之际，军赋书画院院长、《太行祭》主创人陈恩田在北京会见了中共第十届中央政治局常委李德生之子、太行抗战将士后代代表李和平同志。双方围绕太行抗战历史与革命精神传承进行深入交流。
BEIJING, Sept. 7 — On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Chen Entian, Dean of Junfu Calligraphy and Painting Academy and lead creator of "Taihang Elegy," met in Beijing with Comrade Li Heping, son of Li Desheng, former member of the Standing Committee of the 10th CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and representative descendant of Taihang War veterans. The two held in-depth discussions on the history of the War of Resistance in Taihang and the inheritance of revolutionary spirit .
陈恩田表示，太行山是中国共产党领导抗日战争的重要战略根据地，是中国军民不屈不挠、英勇抗争的精神象征，为抗战胜利作出了不可磨灭的贡献。他指出，在中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利八十周年的历史性时刻，更要铭记太行抗战老一辈革命家的丰功伟绩，传承他们坚定的理想信念和崇高的爱国精神。
Chen Entian emphasized that the Taihang Mountains served as a crucial strategic base for the Communist Party of China during the War of Resistance, symbolizing the unyielding and heroic spirit of Chinese military and civilians, and made indelible contributions to the victory. He noted that at this historic moment of the 80th anniversary, it is essential to remember the monumental achievements of the older generation of revolutionaries and carry forward their firm ideals and profound patriotism .
李和平同志回顾了父亲在太行山区艰苦抗战的经历，强调新时代更应弘扬太行精神，赓续红色血脉。双方一致认为，要通过文化艺术等多种形式，加强对抗战历史的宣传与教育，激励后人珍视和平、砥砺奋进。此次会见体现了抗战后代对历史的深切缅怀和对革命传统的崇高敬意。
Comrade Li Heping recalled his father’s arduous battle experiences in the Taihang region, stressing the importance of promoting the Taihang Spirit in the new era and continuing the revolutionary legacy. Both sides agreed to enhance the education and dissemination of battle history through cultural and artistic forms, inspiring future generations to cherish peace and strive diligently. This meeting reflected the deep reverence of the descendants for history and revolutionary traditions .

General Li Desheng’s battle experience in the Taihang was a journey of growth from an ordinary soldier to an outstanding commander, epitomizing the Eighth Route Army’s perseverance in harsh conditions behind enemy lines. With courage and wisdom, he contributed significantly to the victory .
李德生将军是八路军第129师385旅769团的一位优秀指挥员，他从排长、连长、副营长、营长一路成长，在太行山抗日根据地度过了艰苦而光辉的岁月。他参与了众多重要战斗，为太行山抗日根据地的创建、巩固和发展做出了重要贡献。
As a distinguished commander of the 769th Regiment, 385th Brigade, 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, Li rose through the ranks from platoon leader to company commander, deputy battalion commander, and battalion commander, spending arduous yet glorious years in the Taihang base. He participated in numerous critical battles, contributing greatly to the establishment, consolidation, and development of the base .
1937年，李德生将军担任通信排长，参加夜袭阳明堡机场战斗。1938年，他升任特务连连长，参加创建太行根据地的工作。1938年底，他参与了平昔公路伏击战，毙伤敌80余人。1939年，他任769团2营营长，后转任1营营长。1940年，他参加白晋战役（南关战斗）与百团大战。
In 1937, as a communications platoon leader, he joined the surprise attack on Yangmingbao Airport. In 1938, promoted to special forces company commander, he participated in establishing the Taihang base. By late 1938, he engaged in the Pingxi Road ambush, eliminating over 80 enemies. In 1939, he served as battalion commander of the 2nd and later the 1st Battalion of the 769th Regiment. In 1940, he fought in the Bai-Jin Campaign (Nanguan Battle) and the Hundred Regiments Campaign.
1940年8月，李德生将军血战露梁山七昼夜，掩护破路部队。1942年5月，他又率部掩护八路军总部机关突围。1943年，他担任太行军区第二军分区30团团长。1945年3月，他指挥攻克马坊据点，被赞为“典型歼灭战”。
In August 1940, he fought fiercely for seven days and nights at Liangshan to cover road-destruction troops. In May 1942, he led troops to cover the breakout of the Eighth Route Army headquarters. In 1943, he became commander of the 30th Regiment, 2nd Military District of Taihang Military Region. In March 1945, he commanded the capture of Mafang stronghold, hailed as a "classic annihilation battle".
